Friday, Feb. 3 - Passionate Declaration with Kelly Kilmer from 12:30 - 4;30. Cost is $70.00. What do you get when you combine paper, tape, pens, and more? A completely one of a kind journal made by your own hands! We’ll begin the workshop by constructing a quick but totally cool journal. We’ll then dive right in and begin to learn a plethora of mixed media collage techniques upon the pages of the journal. We’re all about the layers in this class as you learn explore new composition and design techniques as you work on the pages of your new journal. I guarantee that you will love working in this book as much as I did!

Supply list: Scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels, permanent black inkpad, container to hold water, 1" brushes to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks.

Saturday, Feb 4 - Luggage Album with Shari Albrecht from 10:30 - 2:30. Cost is $45.00. The sample has been in the shop for 3 months, we scheduled it earlier and had to cancel it. Many of you have asked when we are going to do the class. Don't miss this class. This promises to be a wonderful class. Supply List: Scissors, ruler, red line tape, adhesive of your choice, double sided tape, ranger distress ink (if you have them), pictures (if you want).

Sunday, Feb 5 - Jewelry Etching Class with Ruth Shapiro, 12:30-4:30. cost is $70. Ruth Shapiro will be doing a Jewelry etching class, the information is following: Metal etching is an easy way to add texture, words,and pictures to a piece of metal. In this introductory workshop, learn how to etch on copper and brass. The workshop will include a handout and all supplies and materials and pre-cut copper/brass shapes that can be used to make a finished piece or save as samples. Etched pieces can be used to make jewelry, book plates, frames, etc. No experience with metal working is necessary. You should plan to have fun and get messy! Please wear old clothes and/or an apron, and wear closed- toe shoes in case of spills. If you need magnifiers for close-up work, please bring them along. If you have a favorite rubber stamp, bring that, too. Please note that this is a technique that you will definitely be able to duplicate at home with a very minimal amount of tools and supplies.

Thursday, Feb 9 - This is a SPECIAL NIGHT--many of you remember Cheri Robb who used to teach here before she left for Colorado seven years ago. She has been back helping Jessica Hollowell with her recovery and she would like to say hi to some of the people she knew back then before she leaves for Colorado again. Jessica is going to come in as well so you can all see how well Jessica is doing. Come on by between 4:00 and 7:00 and say hi.

Friday, Feb. 10 - Make It and Take It with Linda Forest from 6:30 - 8:30 (sometimes Linda does it earlier, will let you know later). Cost is $5.00 per project. Come and see what fun things Linda has in store for us this evening--she always has fun projects.

This is a collage class but it’s also about how to write, where to write and what to write. Pretty pictures are nice to create but let’s put some meaning and written words onto our journal pages. This class is designed to nurture and encourage you in the art of art journaling. I guarantee that there will be plenty of collage AND written prompts! You will walk out with several completed pages and your head will be brimming full of new ideas and possibilities! Hi Everyone--

Hope all your holidays were wonderful and you are all looking forward to a bright and joyous brand new year. We hope you will join us in our classes that we have on tap. You will get a run down in just a minute. First to let you know that Jessica Hollowell is doing very well. She still gets very tired, but is receiving visitors for a short amount of time and her classes are suspended until further notice. Get well Jessica.

Let us pray for a happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year and for those of you with family and friends in the military, let us all keep them and their safety in our prayers daily. Love all our military.

I have to tell you about the classes this weekend, Carol Hoesly is doing the most fabulous class. She is teaching how to STAMP (not paper) backgrounds using 1-3 different stamps using different colors of ink; then when the backgrounds are dry making gorgeous cards out of the backgrounds. This truly is a class you don't want to miss. It is $45 and is Saturday, January 21 from 10:30 - 2:30, and it is like getting two classes in one. Samples are in the shop. Then Lori Lai is doing her first class of the year on Sunday, 12:15-4:30, $50. Once again I cannot give you a description of the class because Lori hasn't told me what she is doing and she hasn't sent any samples; but we do know that Lori does amazing things with paper from weaving to making the most unique cards that you would be proud to send if you can make yourself send them--most times they are so beautiful you don't want to send them out.

Calligraphy started Tuesday and Wednesday, January 10 and 11 and goes through March 13 and 14, every Tuesday and Wednesday night, 7-9PM, 6 weeks--$120; 10 weeks--$200.

January 29: Kelly Kilmer will be doing Journalling called Passionate Disclaimer, 12:30-4:30, $70. Book arrived in the shop today for viewing.

Sunday, Jan 15 - My Favorite Things with Rebekka of Dreamweaver from 10:30 - 12:30. Cost is $35.00. This is one classes you wont want to miss! It is a great way to end a year of crafting with Dreamweaver Stencils and start a New year off right, maybe with a new favorite technique of your own. We will be creating with some of my favorite products like Metallic FX, Metallic Pant sticks, etc and some of my techniques like embossing ink transfer, metallic leafing, etc. With so much fun to be had, we will not be assembling cards in class. Bring lots of luck there will be drawings. Supply List: 5 small (1/8) stencil brushes for coloring and 1 large brush (1/2 or 3/4) and your basic tools.

Sunday, Jan 15 - Faux Cloisonne with Rebbekka of Dreamweaver from 2 - 4. Cost is $35.00. This technique utilizes pigment inks, embossing paste and embossing powder. It is always a class guaranteed to amaze and inspire. Because this class is technique based there will be Multiple stencil choices available. Supply List: 5 small (1/8) brushes and your basic tools (scissors, paper trimmer and adhesive). You will have the opportunity to create multiple images, we will not be assembling cards in class.

JESSICA UPDATE

I am so happy to say that Jessica came home today. She looks wonderful, a little weak and not up to receiving visitors as yet, but very happy to be home. If you would like to send her a get well greeting, I will be sure she gets them.

She will be visiting doctors frequently over the next three months, so as of now her classes will be on hold. We will keep you updated as to when she will be well enough to come back and teach.

So glad you're better Jessica. Thanks Cherri for coming to stay with her during her recovery.

JESSICA UPDATE 1/8/12

Just talked with one of Jessica's friends, Cheri. Cheri will be coming in on Thursday to help with Jessica's recovery. As you know, Jessica had the ventilator removed yesterday and ate. She will be up and around today and tomorrow, then she is going into a "step down unit" and will be there for 2-3 days. During that time they will show her how to get around and let her know what she can and cannot do.
After that they will release her to come home where she will continue to recover. Cheri will be with her for the next month.

OK everyone good news--Good news! Jessica is off the breathing tube, she sat up and ate breakfast this morning! Thank God! This post is from Joanne Gordon. On Wednesday night (Jan 4th) Jessica went through surgery to

have a heart valve replaced. Well Jessica came through the surgery

fine last night, she is still on a ventilator.

It is with a sad heart that I am contacting you today. I was informed yesterday that Jessica Hollowell is in ICU at Kaiser Hospital. She checked herself in yesterday, they thought it was pneumonia. As of 9:30 this morning she is on a ventilator and not able to speak or communicate. Things are not looking well. I am in contact with her daughter and will keep you updated. UPDATE: 1/4/12 12:04pm Jessica's oxygen level has been reduced from 100% down to 40%. There is a problem with her Mitro Valve in her heart. She is being weened off oxygen and when she is well enough will be transported to Kaiser Hospital Sunset for Open Heart Surgery. She is a little better than the above message but she is still in ICU and still needs our thoughts and prayers.

It is a great way to end a year of crafting with Dreamweaver Stencils and start a New year off right, maybe with a new favorite technique of your own. We will be creating with some of my favorite products like Metallic FX, Metallic Pant sticks, etc and some of my techniques like embossing ink transfer, metallic leafing, etc. With so much fun to be had, we will not be assembling cards in class. Bring lots of luck there will be drawings. Supply List: 5 small (1/8) stencil brushes for coloring and 1 large brush (1/2 or 3/4) and your basic tools.

Saturday, Dec 10 - Faux Cloisonne with Rebbekka of Dreamweaver from 2 - 4. Cost is $40.00. This technique utilizes pigment inks, embossing paste and embossing powder. It is always a class guaranteed to amaze and inspire. Because this class is technique based there will be Multiple stencil choices available. Also, she will be showing people how to use the "new" Kimono "die cuts" by Hanko which also came in the same week. The two dies match Hanko's Kimono stamps. For those of you who don't "DO" kimonos the actual project uses a Spellbinder's ornament die. She was feeling sort of festive when she saw the 2 papers so that's why the projects have a seasonal look to them.

I think this is one of the best holidays of the year, we stop to reflect on all we are grateful for, we get together with family and friends to break bread together with no other thought that how blessed we truly are and how much we all have to be grateful for each and every day. This Saturday, November 26 is Small Business Saturday and everyone that shops will receive a 35% discount on all purchases; plus it is the beginning of our mini envelope season. For those of you who are new to Stampin' from the Heart we do this every year. For those of you that are new to Stampin' we do this during the holiday every year. Everytime you purchase anything during the holiday season starting today you will be given an envelope with a percentage (from10% to 50%) or an Instant Winner. 1 envelope per person (who purchase something) per day. If you get an Instant Winner you can pick any wood stamp in the shop. The day you can start to redeemed your the highest percent envelope is on our open house, which is on December 16, 2011.

Well we did it! We had our 10th anniversary/birthday, hard to believe we've been here 10 years. Thank you all of you who came and made our day fun and successful. We were so glad to see all of you, some we see frequently and some we haven't seen in a while--it was good to see all of you--A BIG HUG AND KISS AND AN EVEN BIGGER THANK YOU. Special thanks to Rebekka Behunnin who came all they way from Redlands for a great Make It and Take It, and you all got some orange paste and a stencil, how great is that (thank you also Hailey we appreciate all your help). Thank you to Shellie DiSpirito and my son and daughter-in-law for the flowers--they are beautiful and we will enjoy them the rest of the week. Thank you Beverly McAlister for the wonderful homemade Oatmeal Toffee Chip cookies (she has a wonderful cookie business and has made some wonderful cookies for some of our events) and Cate Reilly for the truffles. A big thank you to Ellie Shaw who always does more than she should--thanks for the wonderful homemade cookies the ginger was great (I think Marty ate all the ginger cookies except the one I ate). Thank you DeAnn Singh for the wonderful calligraphic wishes--we will get them up for all to see--so much talent in one lady, hard to believe. Last, but not least, a SUPER HUMONGOUS THANK YOU to all those that made this day possible; an early morning call for my husband and son to put up shades and picking up the tables and barbecue and making sure the hot dogs were done to perfection; Nina for all her help throughout the shop but especially in the Make It Take It area with her expertise in making and taking and Laura who manned the register through most of the day and handled it so well when things got a little bit crazy (unfortunately we are not use to 10 people lined up at the register at one time) and Angelica for helping us all out and taking a lot of the pressure off.

I realized today that many of you want items that need to be ordered; you ask me to order them, and I have failed you more than once--so we are going to try something new when you want me to order something for you, please email me with the item (manufacturer and number [if you know it], that way I have it on the computer and if there are questions we can refer back to it--I am trying to do something that maybe my brain will handle. Let's try.

Again, thank you all for a wonderful day. Now I will take my bones to the bath and bed. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Friday, Sept. 30 - Postcards with Jessica Hollowell from 6:30 - 8:30. 2 postcard for $10.00.

Saturday, Oct. 1 - The Ghoulfriends - a Halloween Journal with Tags with Linda Forrest from 10:30 - 4:30. Cost is $55.00. In this workshop we'll first assemble a book with sewn pages. These pages will allow you to record your Halloween memories and thoughts at a later time. Black lace pockets will hold an array of decorative 8 x 4 Tag Ladies. You can journal even further on the backs of these tags or leave them as is. Suppl list: bone folder, an awl, a pair of sharp scissors for any necessary trimming, a glue stick and a snack or lunch for an energy boost.

Sunday, Oct. 2 - Holiday Cards- Lori Lai from 12:15 - 4:15. Cost is $50.00. There will be other option. Supplies List: regular tape, personal paper trimmer, small "x"- xyron sticker maker (if you own one), paper piercer, foam mounting tape, double sided tape, bone folder, pencil/eraser, scissors, adhesive tape runner (such as Mono adhesive) or any other Basic Stamping Kit.

Thursday, Sept. 29 - Art from the Heart Club from 6:30 to 8:30. We are going to try something new so come on in and bring your stamping kit with you. If you like to make cards we will do that, if you like ATC's we will do that also. Come on in and let's have some fun.

Friday, Sept. 30 - Content: The Artist’s Life with Kelly Kilmer from 11:30 - 3:30. Cost is $70. Create a uniquely stitched tape covered, content filled journal using my favorite cardstock, paper ephemera, a plethora of deco tape, needle and thread. I quickly fell in love with this journal and carried it with me everywhere last summer as it is small enough for every day, on the go use. I loved how I could slip it in a Ziploc bag with a glue stick, some collage ephemera and a handful of pens. I worked on it every day, everywhere. You will learn how to blend and layer colorful ephemera and that leaving a little white space is good! This journal is definitely one of my most favorite books that I have ever worked in. I loved learning how to work with the open spaces on the pages, using pens, stencils, stickers and more. I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you! I guarantee you will love this journal as much as I did! Supply list: Scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels, permanent black inkpad, container to hold water, 1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks.
