Assemble a unique book with three "X"s in a row on the spine (hence, triple X). Very cool and very fresh. Add some fun and funky paper and I think you'll walk out of here quite happy with your finished sample. This gorgeous book can be utilized as an art journal, photo album, memory book, and so much more. Supply list: Scissors, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, x-acto knife and cutting mat.

Thursday, November 13: Calligraphy Class #8, Designing Letters, DeAnn Singh, 10 weeks, 7-9PM $200. The classes will be held on either Wednesday or Thursday of each week. Read our note at the top of this newsletter about DeAnn.

Friday, November 14: Make-It and Take-It, Gayle Smith is tonight’s teacher, you won’t want to miss. 6:30-?, $5 per project.

Saturday, November 15: Christmas Card Class Featuring the Cuttlebug, Gayle Smith, 10:30-2:30, $45. Gayle will be steering you toward getting your holiday cards finished and you will be using that fun new tool “the Cuttlebug”. Class is limited to 10.

Sunday, November 16: An Artist & Her Symbols, Kelly Kilmer, 12:30-4:30, $70. Artists often turn to the same images to use in their artwork. These images are our symbols. They “speak” for us what can’t be said with words. Bring your journal to class and we will explore consciously and unconsciously what these symbols are and what they mean to us. For beginner to advanced, the techniques we will explore are fun, inspiring and inviting! A detailed handout, as always, accompanies the workshop. Please make sure to read the supply list! Supply list- Students should, please, bring to class: Journal (with paper “heavy” enough to use with acrylics, etc…), Scissors, bone folder, cork backed metal ruler, 3 1" bristle brushes to paint and glue with, container to hold water, small selection of collage ephemera to use, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels, and copies (black and white or color it is up to you) of several images-images that you have used in your artwork, images that call and inspire you. Please make multiple copies in different sizes of the images. I like to have at least one large image to use and then a few copies of the same image in a variety of sizes. I will also have images for you to use in class, but it is nice to have some of your own personal favorites on hand to make it a more meaningful experience. Questions? Please email Kelly at Egorey99@sbcgloba

Let me know how you all are enjoying the blog. Is it working for you?

Luv, Karen
