WHAT'S HAPPENING

Sorry this update is so late. I've been at CHA the last four days--more about that later.
Here is what is going on this weekend, 1/29-2/1.

1/31/09: Jessica Hollowell, Flag book, $45, 10:30-2:30. This is a great little book. You open it out (it is accordion style) and all these fun little flags pop up with different sayings or words.

2/1/09: Pinecone Press Book Club, Gayle Smith, 1:00-3:30. Due to CHA next month's projects will be in the shop next week. You will be working on the word project today.

Please check the calendar on the blog for all the other classes coming up this month (February).

2/7/09: Acrylic Heart Book with Gayle Smith, $50. 12:30-4:30.

2/8/09: Brand NEW class. Cheryl Green, former producer of the Carol Duvall Show and producer of TV Weekly's blog episodes will be in the shop teaching Mica Gloss--if you have not been in the shop to see the samples, this is a must. Mica Gloss is a fun product and is great for smooshing, rubbing together, stamping color off and making up to 6 background cards with just a few colors and one or two stamps. We took this class when Cheryl taught it at JudiKins, this is one you won't want to miss. $30

2/13/09: Linda Forrest is doing Friday night's Make It and Take It. Starts at 6:30

2/14/09: Lori Lai is back with her wonderful classes. One she will be quilting on one card, the other will be some punching all with the beautiful Hanko Paper. Come by and see her samples. Class 10:30-3:00, $50.

ATTENTION ALL BEGINNERS OR WANT TO REVIEW STAMPING TECHNIQUES.
Gayle Smith will be teaching a Basics Class on Friday Evening, February 27 from 7-9:30. Ellie is taking a break this season and Gayle is doing our Basics classes. We have two already signed up and really excited. Learn, stamping, embossing, and many other little tricks of the trade that Gayle will teach you. $35.

How good it was to see Gloria Lusear, who was in for CHA this week. For those of you who wonder what in the world CHA is--it is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, Craft and Hobby Association Conventon in America if not the world. Retailers, manufacturers, vendors come in from all over the world to see what is new. Gloria was demonstrating at the Tsukineko Booth and Gayle was demonstrating at the Clearsnap booth--both were great.

Watch the shop and see what we found! Great punches that can do borders, square borders, ovals and circles. You can mirror image the pattern in the middle of any paper you are working on--watch for them. We have one in the shop you can come in and play with.

Tattered Angels are now in the shop. They are a great shimmery background ink. They are primarily for backgrounds but you can get stencils so you can put the stencil down and spray. You get a stenciled image or you can spray the stencil and put it down like a stamp. We also have some in the shop that you can play with to see the effect.

We also have 12 packages of Graphic 45 paper and 3 packages of die cuts. These are great old fashioned and stylized papers. Thanks Geri for the heads up.

There is now a paper rack near the classroom area with paper that is half price. As this paper leaves more will replace it.

If you have any questions, please contact me and I will try to help you out.
