Friday, May 4 - Wanderlust with Kelly Kilmer from 11:30 - 3:30. Cost is $70.00 Looks can be deceiving. Create this surprisingly complex looking by quite easy journal with pages that flip and fold up and out. You’ve probably never seen anything like this before! The journal is also small enough to slip into your bag for on the go art journaling (I’ve worked in it on a plane, in a car, etc…) After we construct the journal, we will dive deep onto the pages spilling layers of color, texture, pattern, journaling and more. Walk out with your head spinning full of ideas and inspiration! Supply list: Scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels, permanent black inkpad, container to hold water, 1" brushes to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks.

Friday, May 4 - Card Making Nite from 6:30 - 8:30. Come on in & make as many birthday cards for $10.00. You will be using stamps for Hero Arts.

Saturday, May 5 - Jewelry Class with Ruth Shapiro from 10:30-2:30. Cost is $70. No experience with metal working is necessary. You should plan to have fun and get messy! Please wear old clothes and/or an apron, and wear closed- toe shoes in case of spills. If you need magnifiers for close-up work, please bring them along. If you have a favorite rubber stamp, bring that, too. Please note that this is a technique that you will definitely be able to duplicate at home with a very minimal amount of tools and supplies.

Saturday, May 12 - Ritz Glitz with Els from Elizabeth Craft from 10:00 - 12:30. Cost  is $37.00. Learn a new technique using Burnished Velvet and new ECD dies, experiment with Be Creative Tape, the newest peel-off designs and coloring with Copic markers on glitter.

Learn the magic of Shimmer Sheetz.  Learn to emboss, sand, alter, punch and diecut this amazing material.  Play with the new Gemstone colors, as well as the Iris and Metallic Sheets.  Learn a new technique using dies.Cost is $37.00.

Friday, May 18 - New Generation with Laura Cesareo from 6:30 - 8:30. Cost is $10.00. Age group 35 and under. The objective is to introduce stamping and craft to a younger generation. All ages are Welcome.

Saturday, May 19 - Focus on Chalk with Carol Hoesly from 10:30 - 2:30. Cost is $35.00. Learn about the different characteristic of 6 brands chalk ink, and technique that feature best use! Complete a variety of take - home samples,pages of information, comparison samples, and technique instruction! Bring basic stamp kit, including dry adhesive or glue stick, non-stick craft sheet, memories dye white ink pad +/or re-inker if possible.

Come and learn a fun and easy new stitch while creating a hand bound, hardcover journal made by your own hands in your own unique style! We’ll start the class by making the journal and then diving in to work on the pages. Learn how to transform found, magazine and old book pages using color, texture, pattern and more turning the pages into unique, new, visually delightful pages that sing of you! UPDATE FOR THE WEEK OF 4/9/12

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday this past week and were able to spend time with your family and friends.

We love having classes going each week, but I need to remind you that for each class (including Extravaganza, this Saturday) you are requested to bring your Basic Stamping Kit.  In some classes you won't need it but in many you will.  There was an ink class that the Basic Kit was needed but each individual was not told to bring it (our fault).  ALWAYS bring your basic kit--which includes glue, tape, a ruler, scissors, an xacto knife, bone folder, and one or two acrylic blocks.  If you do not have any of the above items the shop or teacher will generally have some, but it is easier to share with one or two rather than a whole class.

In some specialized classes like Rebekka's Dreamweaver classes (which is coming up this Sunday) you also need to bring 4-6 small blue or gold handle brushes with you.  This should be part of your basic Dreamweaver kit.

Just to let you know, we have a full house for Extravaganza this Saturday--that will be 20.  We are looking at some fun projects.  Bring some small pictures (copies, if you have them), there are a couple of projects that can use them--

Friday, April 13 - FUNdamentals of Texture with Kelly Kilmer from 11:30 - 3:30. Cost is $70.00. Who says that you can only use paint to create texture? In this class you will create a multitude of backgrounds (sans paint) while exploring hands on various texture techniques. Be prepared to layer, learn and have fun in this with a variety of mediums. The possibilities are endless and I will teach you everything I know while putting the FUN in the fundamentals of texture!

Saturday, April 14 - Extravaganza from 8:30 to 5:00. Cost is $95.00. Breakfast is at 8:30 and the first set of classes starts at 9:15, lunch will be from 12:30 to 1:15, next set of classes starts at 1:30. Our teachers for this Extravaganza are Richard Bouchereau, Linda Forest, Lori Lai and Gayle Smith. We all have a great time learning new techniques, breaking bread with one another, getting our goody bags, winning prizes and enjoying ourselves. There are some fun new projects in the making. Sunday, April 15 - Mix It Up with Rebekka Behunin from 10:30-1:00.   Cost is $35. You will learn the do's & don'ts of paste mixing. You will also explore the fun technique of Sludge Pasting.  You will have the opportunity to create many unique to your images. We will also be learning a power pasting technique. You will create 5 cards with the same image and two other cards. Supply List: adhesive and a paper trimmer so we can assemble your cards.

Sunday, April 15 - Creating with Stampee Foils with Rebekka Behunin from 2:00-4:30.  Cost is $35.  You will be learning some fun techniques with this unique product. Stampee Foils add that extra detail to make your project sparkle.  We will be pasting with Dreamweaver Embossing paste, coloring with pigment inks, and embossing with the Big Shot. Supply List: 5 stencil brushes for coloring, scissors, adhesive, and a paper trimmer. Please sign up at the latest, Saturday by noon, so she can prepare.
