May Classes

Wednesday, May 1 - Calligraphy Class #3 with DeAnn Singh from 7 to 9. DeAnn works with each student and you can choose which Calligraphy you want to learn. You can also check DeAnn website at http://www.designingletters.com.

Friday, May 3 - Make It & Take It with Gayle Smith from 6:30 - 8:30. $5.00 for each project. Come and see what fun things Gayle has in store for us this evening--she always has fun projects.
 
Sunday, May 5 - Hanko Paper Class 5 - Lori Lai from 12:15 - 4:15. Cost $50.00. In this class we will be using different Hanko papers some newly released paper as well as some of Lori favorites too. The cards will have lots of floral layered flowers on them. Supply List: paper piercer with mat, tweezers, regular tape, personal paper trimmer, small "x"- xyron sticker maker (if you own one), foam mounting tape, double sided tape, bone folder, pencil/eraser, scissors, or any other Basic Stamping Kit.

Friday, May 10 - An Artist's Life (also the perfect Summer Journal!) with Kelly Kilmer from 11:30 - 3:30. Cost $70.00. Create a uniquely stitched tape covered, content filled journal using my favorite cardstock, paper ephemera, a plethora of deco tape, needle and thread. I quickly fell in love with this journal and carried it with me everywhere last summer as it is small enough for every day, on the go use. I loved how I could slip it in a Ziploc bag with a glue stick, some collage ephemera and a handful of pens. I worked on it every day, everywhere. You will learn how to blend and layer colorful ephemera and that leaving a little white space is good! This journal is definitely one of my most favorite books that I have ever worked in. I
loved learning how to work with the open spaces on the pages, using pens, stencils, stickers and more. I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you! I guarantee you will love this journal as much as I did! Supply list: scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels, permanent black inkpad, container to hold water, 1" brushes to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes) or a few of your favorite glue sticks.

Sunday, May 12 - Mother's Day - Store Closed - Happy Mother's Day to One and All. If you have had any part in a child's life be it Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Sister, helping raise a child that may not be yours, Father, Brother, Uncle -- I want to send Mother's Day Wishes to each of you. Raising children is no easy task and it takes lots of love and sacrifice on the one doing the raising. Bless you all Happy Mother's Day.

Friday, May 17 - New Generation with Laura Cesareo from 6:30 - 8:30. Cost is $10.00. Using the new line of paper Secret Garden. Class will include one card and one clear envelope. Come and see what fun things Laura has in store for us this evening--she always has fun projects. Age group 35 and under. The objective is to introduce stamping and craft to a younger generation. All ages are Welcome.
 
Saturday, May18 - Three's the Charms with Wendy Poma from 10:30 - 1. Cost is $40.00. Wendy is always such fun to take a class from and her books are beautiful and such fun to journal, sketch or give as a gift to someone. All materials are provided by Wendy.
Sunday, May 19 - Focus on Pigment Ink with Carol Hoesly from 12:30 - 4. Cost is $35.00. Learn about characteristics of Pigment Inks, and techniques that feature best use! Complete a variety of take-home sample with a pages of information, comparison sample and technique instruction.

Sunday, May 26 - Joie de Vivre with Kelly Kilmer from 12:30 - 4:30. cost is $70.00.  It's been said that "the eyes are the windows of your soul." Your art journal is a window to your thoughts, dreams and passions. In this four hour workshop we will be focusing on creating a unique, collaged book with a variety of different sized and appropriately placed windows. Learn how to tell your own story as you explore a myriad of collage and journaling techniques. Be prepared for lots of layering and self expression in this workshop! I loved working in this book and so will you!  Supply list: X-acto knife and cutting mat, Scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black inkpad,  1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks, an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)

Thursday, May 30Art from the Heart Club from 6:30 - 8:30.  Free Come make cards with other artists. Bring your stamping kit and have fun. Learn how to make unusual Artist Trading Card and regular cards. Come on in and let's have some fun.

Friday, May 31 &  Saturday June 1 - Becoming: The Art of Visual Dialogue (a special two day class) $210 Times: Fri 11:30-5:30 AND  Sat 10:30-4:30. Kelly is extremely excited about this workshop. My mind is brimming over with ideas, tips, tricks and techniques that I am eager to share with you. In this rare two day class we will be working in an extremely unique way. If you are looking to push yourself as an artist, this is the class that you want to take. If you want to step outside of your comfort zone and explore new ideas and methods of working, this is the book for you. We will start by working LARGE exploring a variety of techniques. As you work, you will learn how to push aside your inner critic as you create rich layers of texture, color and self expression. We'll step back and create a portfolio journal from scratch that will bind and hold not only your pages but other possibilities as well! Now we dive back onto the pages we started earlier to create fresh, new pages. Learn how to develop a keen eye at how you look and see your work as well as the work of others. We'll be exploring a myriad of journal and collage tips, tricks, techniques and ideas; fixing so called mistakes; learning how to "see" by pulling out colors, shapes and patterns and learning how to create visually stunning, deeply rich personal pages. This truly is unlike any other class that I have ever offered. You will be learning process as you create your own unique product (a visual journal!) Learn how to dialogue in your journal and how to make your pages work for you. Supply list: Scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black inkpad,  1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks, an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)
