June Classes

Saturday June 1 - Becoming: The Art of Visual Dialogue (a special two day class) $210 Times: Fri 11:30-5:30 AND  Sat 10:30-4:30. Kelly is extremely excited about this workshop. My mind is brimming over with ideas, tips, tricks and techniques that I am eager to share with you. In this rare two day class we will be working in an extremely unique way. If you are looking to push yourself as an artist, this is the class that you want to take. If you want to step outside of your comfort zone and explore new ideas and methods of working, this is the book for you. We will start by working LARGE exploring a variety of techniques. As you work, you will learn how to push aside your inner critic as you create rich layers of texture, color and self expression. We'll step back and create a portfolio journal from scratch that will bind and hold not only your pages but other possibilities as well! Now we dive back onto the pages we started earlier to create fresh, new pages. Learn how to develop a keen eye at how you look and see your work as well as the work of others. We'll be exploring a myriad of journal and collage tips, tricks, techniques and ideas; fixing so called mistakes; learning how to "see" by pulling out colors, shapes and patterns and learning how to create visually stunning, deeply rich personal pages. This truly is unlike any other class that I have ever offered. You will be learning process as you create your own unique product (a visual journal!) Learn how to dialogue in your journal and how to make your pages work for you. Supply list: Scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black inkpad,  1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks, an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this).

Saturday, June 8 - Summer Fun with Wendy Poma from 10:30 - 1:30. Cost is $40.00. Wendy is always such fun to take a class from and her books are beautiful and such fun to journal, sketch or give as a gift to someone. All materials are provided by Wendy.

Friday, June 14 - Content: An Artist's Life (also the perfect Summer Journal!) with Kelly Kilmer from 11:30 - 4:30. Cost is $70.00. Create a uniquely stitched tape covered, content filled journal using my favorite cardstock, paper ephemera, a plethora of deco tape, needle and thread. I quickly fell in love with this journal and carried it with me everywhere last summer as it is small enough for every day, on the go use. I loved how I could slip it in a Ziploc bag with a glue stick, some collage ephemera and a handful of pens. I worked on it every day, everywhere. You will learn how to blend and layer colorful ephemera and that leaving a little white space is good! This journal is definitely one of my most favorite books that I have ever worked in. I loved learning how to work with the open spaces on the pages, using pens, stencils, stickers and more. I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you! I guarantee you will love this journal as much as I did! Saturday June 15 - Focus on Chalk with Carol Hoesly from 10:30 - 2:30. Cost is $35.00. Learn about the different characteristic of 6 brands chalk ink, and technique that feature best use! Complete a variety of take - home samples,pages of information, comparison samples, and technique instruction! Bring basic stamp kit, including dry adhesive or glue stick, non-stick craft sheet, memories dye white ink pad +/or re-inker if possible.

Friday, June 21 -  New Generation with Laura Cesareo from 6:30 - 8:30. Cost is $10.00. Class will include one card and one clear envelope. Come and see what fun things Laura has in store for us this evening--she always has fun projects. Age group 35 and under. The objective is to introduce stamping and craft to a younger generation. All ages are Welcome.

Saturday, June 22 - Paper Greenhouse with Mike Strong from 10:30 - 12:30. Cost is $25.00. You will create five different cards based on projects from Mike's book "Paper Greenhouse". Come and see what fun things Mike has in store for us--he always has fun projects

Sunday, June23 - TBA - Lori Lai from 12:15 - 4:15. Cost $50.00. Supply List: paper piercer with mat, tweezers, regular tape, personal paper trimmer, small "x"- xyron sticker maker (if you own one), foam mounting tape, double sided tape, bone folder, pencil/eraser, scissors, or any other Basic Stamping Kit.

Thursday, June -  Art from the Heart Club from 6:30 - 8:30.  Free! Come make cards with other artists. Bring your stamping kit and have fun. Learn how to make unusual Artist Trading Card and regular cards. Come on in and let's have some fun.

Saturday, June 29 - Tag Art Project - Linda F. from 10:30 - 4:30. Cost is $45.00 Linda's been busy working in her art room creating original faces which will be put to use in "The Tag Art Project."  A total of six tags will be painted and stamped.  Taking it one step further,  art dolls will adorn the finished tags.  A simple folio will store your Tag Art. Most materials will be provided by Linda.  Please bring a glue stick, small scissors, and a snack/lunch to  keep your energy level boosted.
