July Classes

Thursday, July 4 - Happy 4th of July. - Store Closed.
Friday, July 5 - Joie de Vivre with Kelly Kilmer from 11:30-3:30. Cost is $70.  It's been said that "the eyes are the windows of your soul." Your art journal is a window to your thoughts, dreams and passions. In this four hour workshop we will be focusing on creating a unique, collaged book with a variety of different sized and appropriately placed windows. Learn how to tell your own story as you explore a myriad of collage and journaling techniques. Be prepared for lots of layering and self expression in this workshop! I loved working in this book and so will you! 
Supply list: X-acto knife and cutting mat, Scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black inkpad,  1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks, an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this.)


Saturday, July 13 - Wendy Poma from 10:30 - 1:30. Cost is $40.00. Wendy is always such fun to take a class from and her books are beautiful and such fun to journal, sketch or give as a gift to someone. All materials are provided by Wendy.
                                  Sunday, July 14 - Little Love Notes: Triptych Book Revised and Revisited with Kelly Kilmer from 12:30 - 4:30. Cost is $70. I've revised and revisited different formats of my extremely popular Triptych Book class since I first taught it at Artfest in 2001. This has to be my most favorite version of the book. You will create a book where the pages swing out door-like. Explore using a variety of different mediums and materials as you work your way through the pages. Learn a variety of new and unique methods in self expression as you work in your book. This book has pushed me to think and step outside of my box. I will be pushing you in the same way in class (and you will love it!) Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone and have a heck of a good time doing so. Supply list: Scissors, small selection of favorite collage ephemera, bone folder, cork back metal ruler, roll of waxed paper, roll of paper towels OR an old rag, permanent black inkpad,  1" brush to glue (I like chip or bristle brushes), a few of your favorite glue sticks, an old catalog or magazine to glue on (if you don't want to use all of your waxed paper for this).

Friday, July 19 - New Generation with Laura Cesareo from 6:30 - 8:30. Cost is $10.00. Class will include one card and one clear envelope. Come and see what fun things Laura has in store for us this evening--she always has fun projects. Age group 35 and under. The objective is to introduce stamping and craft to a younger generation. All ages are Welcome.

Sunday, July 21 - TBA - Lori Lai from 12:15 - 4:15. Cost is $50. Supply List: paper piercer with mat, tweezers, regular tape, personal paper trimmer, small "x"- xyron sticker maker (if you own one), foam mounting tape, double sided tape, bone folder, pencil/eraser, scissors, or any other Basic Stamping Kit.

Thursday, July 25 Art from the Heart Club from 6:30 - 8:30.  Free! Come make cards with other artists. Bring your stamping kit and have fun. Learn how to make unusual Artist Trading Card and regular cards. Come on in and let's have some fun.

Saturday, July 27 - TBA - Rebekka of Dreamweaver from 10 - 12:30. Cost is $35. Supply List: Adhesive, scissor, paper trimmer, 5 small stencil brush, 1 large stencil brush.

Sunday, July 28 - Sunflower Cards with Monika Thomas from 9:30 - 12:30. Cost is $30. Make four beautiful, artsy cards using Stampendous Jumbo Sunflower stamp that comes with a stencil and mask, which you get to keep. Learn how easy it is to color this image using the stencil and how easy it will be to place the embossing powder using the mask and Stampendous embossing ink dauber. Once embossing enamel is applies we will be piling on Mica Fragment and Glass Glitters. So fun, you will fell like an artist. Supply List: Heat embossing tool (if you have one, there will be some to share), Scissors, adhesives wet and dry, black ink pad, Mustard seed, saffron, browns and olive green, finger daubers or blending tool or chalk cat eyes.


Sunday, July 28 - Place in Time Calender Book with Monika Thomas from 1:30 - 4:30. Cost is $40. Do you LOVE graphic 45 paper? Well, this class is for you! You will get your hands on 26 sheets of Graphic 45 paper and a chipboard tag sheet to create this 6x6 calender book. This book was designed by Laura Dension for Graphic 45 and i had the pleasure of sitting in on the class when she taught it at Winter CHA. This Book is so fun you will want to make one for yourself and some for gifts. After your book is put together you will even have pieces left for card making. Supply List: paper trimmer (for sure), scissors, adhesives wet and dry, double side tape (like red line or white line) and pop dots if desired, ruler, 1/16 hole punch, and bone folder.
